GRIMSBY'S long-awaited Fishermen's Memorial will be unveiled in January - and keen youngsters have a chance to be involved. The Caxton Youth Theatre, under the direction of Emma Nicholson, is putting together a performance piece that will be an integral part of the unveiling ceremony. The statue, sited in St James' Square, will be revealed to the public on the afternoon of Sunday, January 16 at 3pm.
Rehearsals will take place on the weekends proceeding the big day and youngsters who would like to be involved are being urged to contact Emma. She said: "The Caxton Youth Theatre is proud to be a part of this wonderful day which marks the climax to five years of fundraising and hard work by many people." The youngsters' piece will feature spectacular artwork created by local children during their half-term holiday in October. "It is a wonderful project to be involved in and we're aiming to create a memorable piece which will form part of the overall ceremony."
