My Mother Said I Never Should by Charlotte Keatley, directed by Chris Nicholl

'My Mother Said..." follows the story of four generations of women - a great-granddaughter, a daughter, a mother and a grandmother, grappling with social forces that threaten to split them apart as the 20th Century grows older. The play moves back and forth through the lives of the women and sets the enormous social changes of this century against the needs of individual women.

The cast of four are all stars of the Caxton stage. Kathryn Hood, who starred earlier this year in Kindertransport, plays Rosie, Olivia Kersey, National Youth Theatre member and straight from the cast of Like a Virgin, plays Doris, Gemma Clark who played the lead role in Small Actors, plays Margaret, while Charlotte Fell, also a National Youth Theatre actress plays Jackie. Charlotte has herself just returned from a half-term of intensive work with the National Youth Theatre in Leeds, which she described as "very hard work but fulfilling".
