Membership
We are always keen to welcome new members to the society, so if you are interested in acting, or behind the scenes work such as sound/lighting/set building or stage management, please feel free to come along!
If you would like further details about what we do as a society, or some questions about membership, please use our contact form.
Alternatively, if you would like to apply to join right now, a copy of our membership form can be found here member-form.pdf (opens in a new window - or right click and choose save as - requires compatible Adobe Reader)
Casting
The system we have for casting plays starts with a reading of the play (usually on a Tuesday) - some members will read and act out the play, whilst anyone interested in auditioning can come along and see it, to help them decide if there are any characters they would like to play. At the end of the evening some excerpts of the script will be available to anyone who wants to audition.
The auditions will then be held a couple of days later (usually on the Thursday). There is an audition panel of three, and anyone wanting to audition will need to act out the script excerpts in front of the panel, possibly more than once with differing combinations of people auditioning for other characters.
You do not have to be a member of the theatre to attend the reading and auditions, and we would encourage anyone out there who is interested to come along - however, if you are successful and are cast in a play you will need to become a member of the theatre (membership for adults is £15 per year).
Please contact us if you'd like details of castings on upcoming productions.
